Mallory+Alexa Engagement in Columbus, OH

Engagement, Lifestyle

Downtown Columbus- Scioto Mile Promenade

Alexa + Mallory are both from East Liverpool, OH and moved to Columbus together a few years ago. When they first contacted me, the plan was to originally return home to have their engagement session. I gave them the option to stay in Columbus and have the session there instead and they were thrilled to hear that would travel!

From there I had Mallory tell me a few of their favorite things to do together. Ohio State and wine seemed to be at the top of their list. What better way to celebrate Ohio State by taking photos in Downtown Columbus and High Street. There is so many beautiful and amazing spots I think we could have spent hours downtown. The first stop was the Scioto Mile Promenade, near a few bridges that were absolutely perfect for taking photos. The Promenade stretches along the east bank of the Scioto River, connecting Battelle Riverfront Park and Bicentennial Park along Civic Center Drive. It is a beautiful scenic riverwalk with tons of benches and beautiful brick. These two were very easy to photograph because they are so full of smiles. Constant smiles and so much love shining through for each other. It was so much fun exploring a few new places like Delaware where we ended our session.

High Street

Next stop, High Street! First, I absolutely love High Street because of all the food and shops. It is such a hip and cool street filled with endless opportunities for the perfect city backdrop. Everything is lit up and colorful. Columbus is such a fast growing city there is always something new and exciting popping up on each corner. We basically just walked around and found a few really amazing spots with colorful walls and bright lights. It started to snow/rain at this point and these two totally stuck to it and continued on! The snow definitely added a magical and romantic element.

The Oak and Brazen Wine Co.

Alexa+Mallory live in Delaware and this is one of their favorite spots to go. Because duh... they both love wine! This cute little winery was the perfect spot to take a break from the cold and get nice a cozy with a few glasses of wine and good conversation. We spent close to a hour just chatting before even taking photos. I have so much fun really getting to know my couples and having that opportunity to build a relationship with them. Taking our time and relaxing for a bit before starting again was the perfect way before shooting more pics then heading back outside to bare the cold!

Downtown Delaware, Ohio

Downtown Delaware is such a cute quaint little town about 35 minutes north of Columbus. The buildings are brick, the streets are small, and the town has that old towny feel. You know the ones that have one post office, one restaurant, one theater all on one street within only a few blocks. BUT it is a very beautiful and growing city because of that small town charm it holds. We utilized everything on the streets from the theater, to the old lit up restaurant signs creating a arch over the main road. There was this amazing little coffee shop called Coffeeology with the most perfect store front. Next time I will definitely stop in for a coffee because of how welcoming and cozy the inside looked.

The best part to ending of Alexa+Mallory's session was the beautiful light snowfall. It was so magical for all the outside picture in Delaware where these two now live. <3
